Chairman's Notes

Chairman’s notes: Altrincham (H)

11 September 2025

Today we welcome Altrincham to the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park, can I wish their Directors, Manager, Players, Staff and Supporters a pleasant stay with us and a safe journey home.

Well, it’s a very nice feeling to be a Chairman of a club eight games unbeaten and an even better feeling to be writing about the level of performance at the moment that has been a joy to watch, all of which has seen us climb the league while exciting you the fans.

To see so many players both old and new settle into the current season so quickly is testament to Luke, the staff and in truth the wider club. I feel it shows that the players and club are content, happy and very together.

Of course, if you have a good squad, there are some players who are obviously disappointed with their playing time at present, but that is perfectly understandable. That said, if we do all want to be successful as a team, then we must have a squad with both depth and quality, especially if we are to maintain our positive start.

At present other than Jack Payne, we do not have any other long-term casualties, although Luke Norris did turn his ankle last Saturday against Morecambe and will need a scan next week as a precaution to ensure we know the exact damage and plan his rehab accordingly.

Off the pitch it’s also been a very busy few months in regard to recruitment, the summer builds, facility refurbs, floodlight upgrade, decorations and now as we enter the final phases of dealing with the forthcoming planning issues and planning submissions, we must look to the future and finalise the design.

As such I’ve been a bit pre-occupied and in truth I’ve not really had time to fully welcome the newest of our summer signings. So let me formally welcome the clubs newbies to our football club in Fin Herrick, Lewis Richardson, Tom White and my old friend Zak Brunt. We are excited to have you all here and we hope your time with us will be successful and rewarding for all concerned.

As we have already witnessed the summer signings have already strengthened our squad with their many qualities and as such, they do give me huge optimism and real hope for a very successful season ahead. Of course, it’s also fair to say, it’s far too early for me to go overboard because of an “early doors” good start to the season.

That said, the signs are good and sometimes in football when things are going well, you don’t over analyse things, you just go with it and you enjoy every moment. What I can tell you at this moment in time, is that people are clearly very content across the club and when I’ve recently spoken to you the supporters and got your feedback, you are also very much enjoying the brand of football being played. You are also optimistic about our future, and you are enjoying the improvements made at the club after promotion and across this summer.

For now, though you’ll be pleased to know, there’s not a lot more for me to say. So, let’s enjoy things at present for what they are, let’s wish Luke and the dressing room huge, good luck for today and over the whole season. In the meantime, I’ll try to keep everyone’s feet on the ground in both the good and not so good moments this season, but for the moment let’s dream big and see where our dreams take us.

Lastly whoever you support, let’s hope for an open, attacking game, and may the best team win.

Take care,
Danny.
