Boreham Wood FC fought to a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur XI in a lively pre-season encounter, showcasing moments of brilliance and resilience throughout the match. The game, played on a warm afternoon, saw the Wood hold their own against a talented Spurs side, with notable performances on both ends.

Luke Garrard made four changes to the team that started Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal XI, with Whelan, Newton, King and Rush returning to the starting lineup.

The first half was a tightly contested affair, with both teams probing for openings. Boreham Wood’s goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore was called into action early, making a great block to stop Tottenham’s Yusuf Akhamrich from making a breakthrough in just the 5th minute.

Tottenham continued to press, with Rio Kyerematen’s tactical cross intercepted by Ashmore in the 16th minute, and another chance for the visitors was quickly snuffed out in the 36th minute as Ashmore made a key save. The game paused for a water break in the 33rd minute, leaving the score still deadlocked at 0-0 at the interval.
